The bouncy yet lackadaisical tune from July just oozes a level of suaveness and style that’s incredibly hard to come by in the contemporary pop landscape. Simply effortless with the level of melodic sensibilities that this London based artist brings to the fore, ‘Pokey Lights’ finds the listener bopping their head side to head and back to back as they simply drift away into their special and happy place. There’s a brightness to the overall melody, perhaps a tad bit underrepresented in the overall melancholic feeling but nonetheless well put out in the vibe that it brings out.

A special and differentiated piece of modern r&b from an artist who’s got a talent for song writing that many are far from conceiving.
